Monster Hunt
A 5x5 Board is created with the following Points.
- A Starting Location
- 1d6+2 Clue Locations
- 1d6+2 Setback Locations
- A Final Confrontation Location
When entering a location
- Roll a scene status
- Roll on the district/environment table
- Reveal what's in the location. A clue will ease the scene status and a setback will hinder the
- Roll on the appropriate table to get an idea of what the clue or setback is.
- Ask the oracle:
- "Is there a point of interest here?"
- "Is there something going on?"
- Resolve the scene
Setup a Game
- Generate the starting Location
- Generate the source
- Generate a Motive
- From the Motive Generate a Creature
- Generate a Final Encounter Location
Two Options:
- Pre-generate the game board
- Generate the board as you go with only the start and end locations progenerated
Pre-generated Game
- Generate 1d6+2 Random Clues
- Generate 1d6+2 Random Setbacks
- Add Start location, End Location, Random Clues and Setbacks to an array filling in the remaining empty blanks in an array of 25 items.
- Randomly Sort the item
- Place the items in the array in the 5x5 grid, revealing ONLY the Starting Location.
On the Fly Game
- Add the Start and End locations to the start of the array of 23 empty elements.
- Randomize the array
- Place the items in the array in the 5x5 grid, revealing ONLY the Starting Location
- Upon entering each new location generate a new Tile.
